The Adult Study Trip for Peace, Empowerment, and Change is a unique opportunity for adults to see the Israeli and Palestinian conflict through the eyes of social, cultural, and political leaders who are working together to create peaceful and systemic change. Organized and led by SCG’s founder Melodye Feldman and alumni of SCG’s programs, the study trip offers adults an in-depth study of the complexities of Israeli and Palestinian societies and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Participants will: visit the Negev and learn about Bedouin communities, development towns, and the conflict along the border of Gaza; travel to the north of Israel to visit mixed Arab/Jewish communities and learn about creating a civil society within the State of Israel; and visit Jerusalem to learn about the city and its place as the epicenter of the conflict. Throughout the trip, participants will meet with leaders involved in women’s, youth, and economic empowerment programs and other cross-community and community building efforts.

How to Apply

“Participating gave me understanding of the complicated social, political and economic situation in Israel and the frustrations in trying to work out difficult issues.  But most of all, the it enabled me to experience firsthand the shared humanity that can bring us together, even though we come from many different backgrounds". - Study Trip participant, 2008
