William Ury is co-founded Harvard's Program on Negotiation where he currently directs the Global Negotiation Initiative. Among his other books, he is co-author of Getting to Yes: Negotiating Agreement Without Giving In. His most recent project is the Abraham Path Initiative, which seeks to address the growing chasm between the world of Islam and the West by creating a permanent path of tourism in the Middle East that retraces the footsteps of Abraham.
Senator Johnston has served as one of President Obama’s top three education advisors during the presidential campaign and continues to advise the White House and the Department of Education. Co-founder of New Leaders for New Schools, he also opened and led Mapleton Expeditionary School of Arts. In May 2008, MESA became the first district public high school in Colorado to have a perfect graduation rate with 100 percent of its seniors admitted to four-year colleges.
Adva is an Israeli living in Tel Aviv. At 15 she attended Seeking Common Ground’s summer camp. After high school she decided not to enter the military but to fulfill her national service by working with children who have mental and physical disabilities. She is the co-founder of Interns for Peace program that brings Palestinians and Israelis to work with SCG. Adva is currently completing her degree in Education for Social Justice, Environmental Justice and Peace Education at Kibbutzim College of Education.
Originally from Beit Hanina in East Jerusalem, Rawan recently completed her Master’s of Social Work degree in Civil Society and Peace Building at McGill University. She works as an advocate for the disadvantaged Palestinian Jerusalemite community to obtain their rights from the Israeli government and is also the co-founder of the SCG Interns for Peace program with Adva.
