Seeking Common Ground is...

Seeking Common Ground is an international nonpartisan non-profit organization (NGO) based in Denver, Colorado. Our mission is to build peaceful communities worldwide—we connect and inspire young leaders, provide them with the skills to become agents for social change, and empower them to transform their communities. SCG’s ‘people-to-people’ programs offer individuals the skills to communicate through conflict, transform antagonistic relationships into partnerships, and recognize within themselves the capacity to effect positive change personally, locally and globally.

SCG is best known for our flagship program, Building Bridges for Peace, which brings American, Israeli and Palestinian teens together for peacebuilding and leadership development. This research-based and field-tested methodology has now been successfully replicated to serve diverse American communities experiencing conflict as well as other international communities including Northern Ireland and South Africa. SCG now offers several teen programs; adult and teen study trips to regions in conflict/post-conflict; and peacebuilding training and consulting services.

“By truly getting to know the person behind the label, ignorance and hatred diminish. We are teaching and learning from each other.”
