BAY AREA GIRLS GATHERING SUMMER MEMORIES FOR SCRAPBOOK
The Bay Area home group held their second homegroup meeting today. They are currently working on a scrapbook of thoughts, memories and experiences they gained from the summer program. Some of the girls have chosen to submit pieces in writing and everyone put together a few drawings/pages of pictures. During the meeting the group designed a cover for the scrapbook. They are also submitting the scrapbook to the Richard and Rhoda Goldman Fund, the group who provided the grant to include girls from the Bay Area in the BBfP program.
In terms of goals for future meetings, the girls are just starting school again and have come up with a lot of ideas about how their camp experiences relate back to various experiences they are having in school. Some ideas have come up about creating some sort of speakers' bureau to bring the summer experience to schools as a group. The group is also really interested in getting politically involved in local issues.
For the next meeting (November 20th), they are planning to see a movie called the Motorcycle Diaries (a fairly political film that takes place in South America) and eat dinner together.
